The Trial of "Sandy" (in absentia)
|
The People of the State of California, Plaintiff, vs. J. C. Reed, Jr., James Coleman, and John Doe aka "Sandy", Defendants
This is the actual transcript of the trial in 1963 which technically included "Sandy" as one of the defendants, so this transcript has been dubbed The Trial of "Sandy" (in absentia).
According to Reed and Coleman, "Sandy" murdered Vern C. Smith who died on Monday, June 3, 1963.
The next day, Robert George Domingos and Linda Faye Edwards were killed by an unknown perpetrator.
"Sandy" was immediately considered to be the prime suspect by the investigators and a statewide search was launched, but "Sandy" was never apprehended.
Years later, in 1972, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff´s Department announced that there was "considerable evidence" that the Zodiac may have been the killer of Domingos and Edwards.
Was the individual who was known as "Sandy" in 1963 the same person who later became known as the Zodiac?
Whether or not "Sandy" is the Zodiac, the identity of "Sandy" is an unsolved true crime mystery.
